Hero MotoCorp unveils co-developed Harley-Davidson X440 in India
Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest motorcycle and scooter manufacturer, and renowned American motorcycle-maker Harley-Davidson, have unveiled the Harley-Davidson X440 in India.
This premium motorcycle, co-developed by the two powerhouses, is their first offering under their joint licensing agreement, marking a new epoch in their partnership.
The Harley-Davidson X440, symbolising the synergy between Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson, was officially introduced at a ceremony at the Hero Center for Innovation and Technology (CIT). The event was graced by notable figures such as Dr Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman of Hero MotoCorp, and Jochen Zeitz, Chairman, President and CEO of Harley-Davidson, along with investors, media, dealers, and partners.
Embarking on a new journey in the 440cc segment in India, the Harley-Davidson X440 was conceived at the Hero CIT and will be manufactured at Hero MotoCorp’s state-of-the-art Garden Factory in Neemrana, Rajasthan.

Jochen Zeitz of Harley-Davidson echoed his sentiments, stating, “Today’s launch of the Harley-Davidson X440 marks the start of a new chapter in India for Harley-Davidson – we’re excited to launch our first development as part of our partnership with Hero MotoCorp.”
Harley-Davidson X440 sets itself apart with a commanding road presence, all-metal body, and a powerful engine. With its distinct design bearing Harley-Davidson’s iconic DNA, the motorcycle delivers robustness and comfort, catering to both urban traffic and rough terrains.
Attractively priced across three variants – Denim, Vivid, and S, the much-anticipated Harley-Davidson X440 will be available across the country through Harley-Davidson’s dealer network. The motorcycle is powered by an all-new 440cc oil-cooled, long-stroke BSVI (OBD II), and E20 compliant engine, and provides best-in-class power output and torque.
The Harley-Davidson X440 doesn’t compromise on rider comfort or handling. Paired with a powerful engine, the motorcycle offers a relaxed and confidence-inspiring riding experience, with its advanced lighting package, innovative chassis geometry, and 6-speed transmission gearing adding to its appeal.
