Explicit video of BJP’s Kirit Somaiya unleashes havoc in Maharashtra politics
Maharashtra’s political scene is abuzz with controversy following the circulation of an alleged explicit video involving BJP leader Kirit Somaiya.
The video in question has been seized by opposition parties as a means to criticize the ruling coalition. This incident follows closely after the recent political upheaval in the state involving the split of the NCP.
Reported to have shown Kirit Somaiya in a compromising situation, the video was broadcast by Marathi channel Lokshahi. The Congress and the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena have responded sharply to the allegations against Kirit Somaiya and the ruling coalition, asserting that the video reveals their true nature. They have also hinted at the existence of several other such videos.

Kirit Somaiya, while questioning the video’s authenticity, has demanded an investigation. He has been accused of leading a deceptive public life by Congress MLA Yashomati Thakur, who urged BJP leaders to hold Kirit Somaiya accountable. Yashmomati Thakur suggested that the incident exposes the hypocrisy of those who preach moral uprightness while practicing differently in their personal lives.
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut indirectly referenced Kirit Somaiya in a tweet, alluding to the words of Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray. He predicted that more revelations are forthcoming.
Kirit Somaiya, known for his outspoken criticism of alleged corruption by NCP leaders, wrote to Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis denying any abuse against women and demanding an inquiry into the authenticity of the video clips.
