Datamatics powers India’s first RRTS with advanced fare collection

Renowned digital technologies enterprise, Datamatics, has announced its prominent role in empowering India’s maiden Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). The company is responsible for equipping the Namo Bharat RapidX train by NCRTC, which operates on the Delhi-Meerut priority Corridor, with a comprehensive Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system.

The state-of-the-art rail corridor was formally inaugurated by India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on October 20th, 2023. This RRTS corridor plays a pivotal role in bridging Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, traversing one of the National Capital Region’s most densely populated zones.

Datamatics TruFare: Transforming the Commute Experience

The AFC system, named Datamatics TruFare, covers the entire 82 km of the Delhi-Meerut Corridor. This end-to-end fare collection solution suite caters to all aspects, from design and supply to commissioning and maintenance. The platform encompasses advanced features like automatic fare gates, ticket vending machines, ticket readers, hand-held ticketing devices, and a seamless integration with banks for Rupay NCMC contactless card payments.

Moreover, it supports a range of ticket formats, including QR-code paper and mobile tickets, and is compliant with NCMC standards. Datamatics TruFare is a landmark introduction, pioneering multiclass urban RRTS travel in India.
