Dabur India begins construction on Rs 550cr factory near Indore
Dabur India has broken ground on an INR 550 crores manufacturing facility in the SMART Industrial Park near Indore in Madhya Pradesh for producing a range of its ayurvedic medicines, food products, and health supplements.
The first phase of construction of the Dabur manufacturing plant has been planned under the Madhya Pradesh government’s Mega Projects Scheme and also under the Indian government’s production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme.
Spread over 51 acres of land, the Dabur factory in Madhya Pradesh is slated to be completed by the end of 2021-22 financial year. Initially, it will offer direct and indirect employment to nearly 1,250 people and more than 3,000 people after the completion of the final phase.
Mohit Malhotra – Dabur India CEO said: “This project is the largest single investment by Dabur in the state of Madhya Pradesh, and is a clear commitment on our part towards promoting the traditional science of Ayurveda. We have a clear growth strategy in mind and in order to achieve our ambitious goals, we need modern, state-of-the-art, high-performance plants.
“This new facility will provide us the space needed to rapidly expand our production capacity to not only satisfy the growing demand for Ayurvedic products and medicines but also develop and launch innovative Food Products for the future. The new factory is a step forward towards strengthening our position as the world’s largest Ayurvedic products and medicines manufacturer and a market leader in Indian Foods and Beverages category.”
According to Dabur India Executive Director-Operations Shahrukh A Khan, the SMART Industrial Park factory will have fully automated processing and packing lines along with technically advanced warehousing infrastructure.
Recently, the company launched Dabur Anu Tailam, an Ayurvedic nasal drop product for providing relief from headache and nasal congestion.
