Cochin Shipyard bags Rs 550cr order for emission feeder container vessels
Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), an Indian shipbuilding and maintenance facility, said that it has won an order for a couple of zero emission feeder container vessels from Netherlands-based Samskip Group’s companies NAVSHUTTLE 1 AS and NAVSHUTTLE 2 AS.
The order calls for the design and construction of the vessels and comes with an option to deliver an additional two vessels.
According to Cochin Shipyard, the project cost for the firm order is around INR 550 crores.
The first vessel is to be supplied in 28 months and the second vessel is to be delivered in 34 months.
Cochin Shipyard said that the ships can carry around 365 45ft long high cube containers and are intended to cater to the European Market where there is high demand for sustainable transportation solutions.
