Coal India to prepare pre-feasibility report for aluminium project in Odisha

Coal India Limited said that its board of directors has given in-principle approval to a pre-feasibility report for establishing an integrated greenfield project in .

The integrated aluminium project will include bauxite , an alumina refinery, an aluminium smelter, and associated captive power plant. It will be owned by the company’s fully-owned subsidiary — Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL).

is an Indian government-owned coal mining company. Last December, the Narendra Modi government had approved the company’s INR 1 lakh crores diversification plan to establish a couple of aluminium plants in the eastern region of the country along with a solar module manufacturing value chain.
