Berlin Packaging acquires Spanish packaging firm Juvasa Group

Berlin Packaging, a US-based hybrid packaging supplier, has acquired Spanish packaging firm Juvasa Group for an undisclosed price.

Juvasa Group is made up of various companies engaged in catering to the food and beverage industry with glass, plastic, and metal packaging.

Established in 1987, the Juvasa Group supplies jars and bottles for olive oil, sauces, wine, spirits, honey, vegetable preserves, and other products.

The Spanish packaging firm is based in Sevilla and has locations in Portugal and the Canary Islands apart from its home country.

The company also provides custom packaging design services through in-house design studio — Avanza Packaging.

Jesús Valle Sánchez — CEO of the Juvasa Group said: “As a family business, it was of the utmost importance that we select the best partner for the future.

“We are confident that our relationship with Berlin Packaging will enable us to bring even more value to our customers and strengthen our position as a market leader in Iberia and beyond.”

Berlin Packaging said that all the locations and employees of Juvasa Group will be retained. The US firm said that the acquisition, its 6th this year in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), will grow its presence in Iberia and the Canary Islands, while adding new design and e-commerce capabilities.

Paolo Recrosio — CEO of Berlin Packaging, EMEA said: “With the addition of the Juvasa Group, Berlin Packaging is by far the largest packaging distributor in Iberia, a crucial market in Europe.
