The botanical name of beetroot is Beta vulgaris, which belongs to the Chenopodiaceae family and is commonly known by other names like garden beet, table beet, and red beet.

Beetroot is a naturally available food and is commonly found in countries like Central America, North America, and Britain. Beetroot is a vegetable that grows under the ground.

Beetroot is used for preparing many food items and is also used as a coloring agent in jams, ice creams, etc.

Beetroot contains nitrates that are converted to nitric oxide after mixing in blood.  The nitric oxide that is released in blood is a potent vasodilator of the blood vessels and causes a decrease in blood pressure. 250mg of raw beetroot juice should be taken daily.

  • If 400ml of beetroot juice is given to old people continuously for a few days, it results in an increase in the blood circulation to the brain in them and they will be very active than normal thinking levels.
