Dutch contractor Van Oord has been selected to install 111 extended monopiles, of which 107 will serve as turbine foundations, while the remaining four will support offshore substations. The onshore infrastructure for Baltica 2 will be developed in partnership with GE Vernova and Polimex Mostostal (PXM). This phase includes constructing a 275/400 kV high-voltage substation and export lines that will integrate the wind farm’s output into the Polish Power System.

GE Vernova, through its Polish subsidiary GE Power Sp. z.o.o., will supply critical grid stabilization technology, including gas-insulated switchgear, transformers, and static synchronous compensators (STATCOMs), ensuring efficient energy transmission from offshore to onshore networks. Meanwhile, PXM will oversee the civil engineering, installation, and expansion of Poland’s electrical grid capacity to accommodate large-scale offshore wind power.

On 27 November 2024, a First-Cut Ceremony was held at PTSC M&C’s fabrication yard in Vung Tau City, Vietnam, marking the official start of fabrication for the Baltica 2 offshore substation platforms. The event brought together key executives from Ørsted, PGE, Semco Maritime, PTSC Mechanical & Construction (PTSC M&C), and PTSC Corporation, demonstrating the collaborative international effort behind the project.
