Woolpert acquires hydrographic survey and marine tech company eTrac
Woolpert has acquired eTrac, a vessel-based hydrographic survey and marine technology company headquartered in California, for an undisclosed price.
eTrac is engaged in providing custom and integrated marine services for projects in the US and its territories.
Its services include the collection and processing of hydrographic survey and bathymetric mapping data for navigation safety and nautical charting, coastal mapping, high-resolution multibeam sonar data for pipeline inspections and shipping channel dredging, aerial lidar data and underwater imagery for change analysis, as well as vessel positioning and monitoring.
eTrac will come under the geospatial sector of Woolpert, which is an American architecture, engineering, geospatial (AEG) and strategic consulting firm.
The acquisition is said to combine eTrac’s hydrographic survey and multibeam sonar expertise with Woolpert’s aerial topographic, geospatial, and bathymetric capabilities to expand service offerings, tap inherent synergies, achieve efficiencies in operations, and extend geographic footprint.
Besides, the deal adds eTrac’s fleet of survey vessels to the 49 manned and unmanned aircraft of Woolpert.
