Wipro prevails in Shell.ai Hackathon’s EV Charging Network Challenge

Wipro, an Indian technology consulting and services firm, said that it has won the Shell.ai hackathon, which is powered by Microsoft along with Udacity for Sustainable and Affordable Energy.

Every year, the Shell.ai hackathon gathers brilliant minds that are passionate about digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to address real energy issues and create a cleaner, more carbon-free world.

The 2022 contest invited participants to tackle an “EV Charging Network Challenge” through the use of AI to enhance a charging network to adapt to changing demographics and changing EV demand from customers.

Pratyaya Bhattacharyya, who is a lead data scientist at Wipro, with his location optimization solution for charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) was the winner of the world hackathon. By using quadratic equations, he calculated forecasts for all the locations, and developed a linear programming formula to find optimal results.
