Wipro announces four new global business lines to address client priorities
Wipro has announced four new global business lines (GBLs) in a move to increase alignment with the evolving business requirements of clients and capitalize on growing opportunities in high-growth sections of the market.
In the new model, Wipro can now provide capabilities to clients via four GBLs that are centered on the basis of cloud, enterprise technology and business transformation, engineering, and consulting.
Wipro said that the new model is a reflection of the company’s ongoing shift towards strategic areas of bets and its emphasis on leveraging the power of “One Wipro to meet customers’ complete spectrum of technological and business objectives.
The new model will come into force on 1 April 2023.
The four new global business lines of Wipro are Wipro FullStride Cloud, Wipro Enterprise Futuring, Wipro Engineering Edge, and Wipro Consulting.
Wipro FullStride Cloud will bring all of Wipro’s cloud-based capabilities into an integrated, full stack offer. Cloud native applications, cloud architecture, applications modernization cloud strategy, and migration as well as cloud infrastructure will all fall within this particular business line.
Jo Debecker, who currently oversees Wipro’s Cloud Infrastructure Services, will manage this business and will assume the role of the Global Director for Wipro FullStride Cloud.
Wipro Enterprise Futuring will offer clients innovative solutions for large-scale enterprise transformation. The business line will include intelligent insights and data, digital operations, application platform systems, and cybersecurity.
Nagendra Bandaru, the current Wipro’s head of the iCORE enterprise, has been promoted to become the global head of Wipro Enterprise Futuring.
Wipro Engineering Edge, which was established last year to help Wipro grow its position as a engineering services major, will eventually become an independent business line. Harmeet Chauhan, who is currently in charge of Wipro Engineering, will take over as the global head of Wipro Engineering Edge.
Wipro Consulting will align Designit, Capco, and Wipro’s Domain and Consulting business under one banner, resulting in better practice and sharing of experience between these separate businesses.
Capco’s CEO Lance Levy as well as Philippe Dintrans, Wipro Domain & Consulting Global Head will continue to oversee their respective businesses within their sectors, under the guidance of Wipro CEO Thierry Delaporte.
Thierry Delaporte said: “Our transformation journey over the past three years has yielded outstanding growth for our business. So much that we have outgrown the two-business line model that we had set at the beginning of our journey.”
The Wipro CEO further said: “We are now doubling down on our strategic bets to take our growth to its next phase. This evolution of our business lines will allow us to sharpen our focus on clients and simplify how we orchestrate internally and across our ecosystem.
“Our new model will accelerate speed-to-market, streamline decision making, and allow us to channel investments more effectively and efficiently.
“Deepening our alignment with clients will allow us to adopt a more customized and specialized approach to their needs, unlocking new growth opportunities for our — and our clients’ — business.”
