Wipro and Pure Storage team up for sustainable data center solutions
Wipro announced a strategic partnership with Pure Storage, an enterprise data storage solutions provider with an aim to accelerate clients’ sustainability journey through efficient and environmentally-friendly technological solutions.
The primary focus of the partnership is to provide customers with strategies to reduce their data center footprint and minimize environmental impact. Both Wipro and Pure Storage will employ their expertise in sustainability and technology to incorporate industry best practices into clients’ infrastructure, addressing aspects like carbon emissions in data storage systems and power efficiency.
The alliance will also emphasize reducing e-waste by shifting from traditional hardware upgrades to continually upgrading individual components. This approach not only promotes resource efficiency but also supports a circular economy by prolonging the lifespan of technology assets. Wipro’s Sustainable Technology & Impact intelligence solutions offer an example, providing insight into critical infrastructure by monitoring and managing assets’ Impact.
Stephanie Trautman, Chief Growth Officer at Wipro Limited, emphasized the growing demand for sustainable technology infrastructure, adding that the partnership will help meet this need in the area of data storage and data centers.
Pure Storage’s Chairman and CEO, Charles Giancarlo, also expressed pride in the shared vision for sustainability with Wipro, aiming to decrease environmental impact without compromising IT performance. Jo Debecker, Global Head of Wipro FullStride Cloud, provided an example of how the partnership has already enabled a joint customer to significantly reduce storage footprint and carbon emissions.
