Vestas said that its subsidiary Vestas China has been awarded a contract to supply its V155-3.3 MW wind turbines for a 99MW wind farm project in China from an undisclosed customer in China.
As per the contract, the Danish wind turbine manufacturer will supply 30 of its V155-3.3 MW wind turbines.
Additionally, Vestas has signed a five-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.
Vestas did not disclose the project name nor its location, and also the contract value.
According to Vestas, the V155-3.3 MW wind turbine combines low sound power levels with a full-scale converter, which it says is highly appropriate for an increasing number of distributed wind energy projects in China. Distributed wind is related to a fragmented network of power grids in China, where smaller scale, local power grids are connected to densely populated regions.
The Danish wind turbine manufacturer won a contract for its V155-3.3 MW wind turbines for another wind project in China in June 2020. As per the contract, Vestas will supply a dozen wind turbines with a total capacity of 40MW for an undisclosed distributed wind project in the country.
Vestas also signed a 20-year Active Output Management 4000 (AOM 4000) service agreement for the Chinese distributed wind project.
