Ujjivan Small Finance Bank introduces voice, visual, vernacular banking app Hello Ujjivan

India-based Ujjivan Small Finance Bank has unveiled a new app called Hello Ujjivan to provide banking access to individuals who have limited reading and writing skills.

Hello Ujjivan is said to be the first mobile banking application in India with voice, visual, vernacular-enabled features.

With the app, the Ujjivan Small Finance Bank anticipates to inculcate banking habits in digitally-challenged microbanking and rural customers as well as address the digital divide.

Co-developed with Navana.AI, Hello Ujjivan app is accessible by voice in eight regional languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Kannada, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, and Oriya.

Ujjivan Small Finance Bank through its 600 branches and nearly 9,000 microbanking and rural banking staff will educate the customers on using the Hello Ujjivan app.

Initially available to its existing microbanking customers, Hello Ujjivan app will continue to feature more languages and banking solutions such as opening new customer accounts, availing repeat loans, paying utility bills, mobile and DTH recharge in the subsequent phase.
