Limited (OIL), a Maharatna CPSE under the Government of India, has entered into a significant partnership with global energy giant to tackle methane emissions at OIL sites across India. Announced on 19th November 2024 during COP29, the collaboration introduces cutting-edge to the Indian energy sector.

This partnership underscores both companies’ commitment to decarbonization. OIL, a recent signatory to the Oil and Gas Decarbonization Charter (OGDC) launched at COP28, aims to meet ambitious targets of net-zero operations by 2050 and near-zero methane emissions by 2030. TotalEnergies’ AUSEA, an airborne spectrometer system, plays a pivotal role in these efforts, enabling precise detection of methane and carbon dioxide emissions across industrial facilities, including those in hard-to-access regions.
