Terumo, Siemens Healthineers partner to bolster cardiac care in India

Terumo India, a medical devices company, and Siemens Healthineers India, a medical technology company, have forged a partnership to bolster cardiac care in India via collaborative interventions in the areas of training and development of physicians, access to cutting-edge medical technologies, and increased penetration of Tier 2 and 3 cities.

The partnership will kick off with a tailored training program for Cathlab professionals, which will be developed in collaboration with a well-known academic institute in India.

Presently, there is a necessity for more structured courses to improve operational efficiency and patient experience in Cathlabs, said the partners. The aim of their Cathlab Director program is to fulfill the need and help increase the overall standards of efficiency and care in Cathlabs.

The program will feature topics on operations excellence, patient centricity, and digital transformation.

Other initiatives that could be part of the collaboration are training programs for intervention cardiologists and joint initiatives for go-to-market to Tier 2 and 3 cities.

By making use of the respective strengths of Terumo India and Siemens Healthineers India, the training programs will be held at the former’s skill lab with advanced medical technologies such as the latter’s robotics.

The partnership will be extended in the future to training programs as well as initiatives centered on intervention radiologists.
