TCS selected by Rich Products for supply chain transformation
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) said that it has been selected by Rich Products Corporation for helping the end-to-end supply chain transformation of the US-based food products and ingredients manufacturer.
Through the association with TCS, the American firm aims to improve its integrated planning and agility, and address varying customer demands.
The supply chain of Rich Products is said to support the manufacturing of different types of food products, ranging from cakes and icings to appetizers, pizza, and specialty toppings.
Yexi Liu — chief information officer of Rich Products said: “Data are like food ingredients. Unless you are using the proper tools, you may never get the optimal outcome.
“With TCS, Rich’s end-to-end supply chain transformation is focused on harnessing the power of data by adopting agile technologies that will help us optimize operations, meet customer demand, and achieve continued success.”
Like the case with other food companies, Rich Products is said to have seen considerable changes in the last 10 years, which include huge shifts in products, consumption behavior, consumer experience, and delivery channels.
On top of the challenges, the Covid-19 pandemic has fast tracked the necessity for agile and intelligent supply chains that help firms to use ecosystem data and insights for coming up with more informed plans and better decisions, said TCS.
The Indian IT services provider will help Rich Products in adopting a cloud-based planning platform for unifying a range of demand and supply data. With the help of data analysis based on artificial intelligence/machine learning and a digital twin foundation, the intelligent platform will predict issues, risks, and opportunities autonomously.
Rich Products will tap the data-driven insights to boost its agility and accuracy in decision making while efficiently handling disruptions in business, management of transportation, and changes in consumer demand.
Additionally, TCS will set up scalable integrations between the food company’s existing technology landscape and the new platform for ensuring end-to-end planning-to-execution visibility and orchestration.
TCS said that unifying customer, supplier, and internal manufacturing-centric systems will offer insights for helping the associates of Rich Products in developing scenarios for investment and make informed decisions in order to improve the competitive edge of the company in what is a highly volatile food business.
Dave Jordan — Global Head, Consulting, and Services Integration at TCS said: “Companies leveraging scalable, resilient, and autonomous supply chain technologies stand to gain a competitive advantage during the pandemic and beyond.
“With our deep domain knowledge, consulting-led offerings and expertise in AI and ML, we will help Rich’s reimagine its supply chain to drive optimal investment decisions, while enabling faster product innovation and exceptional customer service.”
