Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a leading renewable energy company in India, has signed a Power Delivery Agreement (PDA) with Chalet Hotels Limited, a prominent hospitality player. This landmark 6 MW AC Group Captive Project aims to generate 13.75 million units of clean, renewable energy, further cementing both companies’ commitment to a sustainable future. The collaboration will substantially reduce carbon emissions by around 9762 tonnes per year.
The deal is aligned with the broader sustainability objectives of the Indian government, which seeks to promote renewable energy and reduce carbon footprints across industries. “This association will make clean energy usage mainstream and also support the decarbonization of the hospitality industry,” said Ashish Khanna, CEO of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited.
Sanjay Sethi, MD & CEO at Chalet Hotels Limited, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that the Power Delivery Agreement is a “win-win for both the environment and our stakeholders.”
TPREL’s robust portfolio already supports multiple Commercial and Industrial (C&I) consumers across various sectors—ranging from steel, automotive, and polymer to hospitality, retail, and realty. The company is actively helping these industries harness the power of renewable energy for more sustainable operations.
This new 6 MW AC Group Captive Project adds to TPREL’s growing list of initiatives aimed at a greener future. The renewable energy company recently signed a PDA with Sanyo Special Steel Manufacturing India Pvt. Ltd. for a Captive Solar Plant of 28.125 MW (AC) and another PDA for 4.4 MW (AC) with the ANAND Group. These agreements push TPREL’s total renewables capacity to an impressive 7,821 MW, including 3,689 MW of projects under various stages of implementation.
In conclusion, this strategic partnership between Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited and Chalet Hotels Limited sets a new standard in the Indian renewable energy landscape. It not only supports the government’s clean energy goals but also demonstrates the private sector’s vital role in achieving a more sustainable future for India.
