In a significant move to enhance educational opportunities, Tata Motors, India’s leading automobile manufacturer, has launched two groundbreaking initiatives: ‘Vidyadhan’ and ‘Utkarsha’. These programs aim to support the higher education of the children of Tata Motors’ technicians working in manufacturing facilities across India, including key plants in Pune, Lucknow, Jamshedpur, Dharwad, Sanand, and Pantnagar.

A new era of educational support with Vidyadhan and Utkarsha

The ‘Vidyadhan’ program offers education loans at preferential rates to facilitate the higher education of children who have successfully completed grades 10 and 12. The initiative will provide loans up to ₹7.5 lakh, covering up to 95% of fees for domestic education or up to 85% for international education. These loans, provided in collaboration with the State Bank of India (SBI), come with significant concessions: a 50% reduction in interest rates for boys and a 70% reduction for girls, transgender individuals, and specially abled children. To qualify, students must be enrolled in full-time graduate or postgraduate courses of at least two years at recognized universities or AICTE-equivalent institutions, either in India or abroad.

By focusing on scholarships and concessional loans, Tata Motors is setting a precedent in corporate social responsibility, demonstrating how businesses can play a pivotal role in enhancing educational access for underrepresented groups.
