Understanding the Kendriya Police Kalyan Bhandar (KPKB) Initiative

Established on 18th Sept 2006 by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the KPKB serves as a welfare measure for various units such as the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Assam Rifles, National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Special Protection Group (SPG), Railway Protection Force (RPF), National Investigation Agency (NIA), Intelligence Bureau (I.B), and all State Police personnel. As of now, KPKB operates through its 119 Master Canteens functioning as distribution hubs and over 1800 subsidiary canteens catering to troops and their families.
