Tata Consultancy Services to help Bombardier expedite digital transformation
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has been roped in as a strategic partner by Canadian business jet manufacturer Bombardier to expedite its digital transformation as well as drive innovation.
The Indian IT company claimed that it was selected by Bombardier because of its experience in executing digital transformation programs in the business aviation sector along with its vast portfolio of intellectual property.
David Murray — Bombardier Senior Vice President of Transformation, Operational Excellence and Information Technology said: “Bombardier will undertake powerful IT and digital transformations to unlock further potential in strategic growth areas including accelerating digital service offerings, sustainable aircraft designs and defense all while continuing to progress lean manufacturing and operational excellence programs.
“We are confident our collaboration with TCS will be the engine that drives the innovation needed to make Bombardier’s IT systems operate with new, advanced infrastructure powered by AI, machine learning and cloud technology.”
Tata Consultancy Services said that in the role of the principal strategic partner, it will assist the Canadian business jet manufacturer drive its pan-organization IT and digital transformation that is intended to improve agility.
The Indian IT services provider will modernize the legacy systems of the aviation company. The systems currently support Bombardier’s engineering, manufacturing, defense, and aftermarket services activities.
Tata Consultancy Services said that it will be deploying and integrating new systems around the S/4 HANA ERP platform. The resulting transformation of the application estate is anticipated to help Bombardier cut down technology debt, speed up its cloud journey, foster innovation, and fuel growth, said the IT services provider.
Besides, Tata Consultancy Services will transform the IT operating model of Bombardier using machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), data and cloud services to improve agility, resilience, and user experience.
