Talkpool wins broadband network contract from German telecoms operator

Talkpool Deutschland AG, the German subsidiary of global telecom services provider Talkpool, has inked a five-year frame agreement with a leading telecommunications operator in Germany.

This contract, valued at approximately €17.5 million, is centered around the design and planning of the telecommunications operator’s fixed broadband network in Germany.

The newly secured contract reinforces Talkpool’s burgeoning market presence in Germany, identified as a strategic growth area for the firm. As an entrenched player in Germany’s telecom network services sector and a reliable service partner of the Company, the largest telecommunications provider in Europe by revenue, Talkpool is poised to capitalize on the projected demand for optical fiber planning and deployment services.

Driven by political commitments, this demand within the German market shows no signs of abating. As such, Talkpool is resolute in its ambition to grow into one of the key broadband network expert companies in the region. Illustrating this growth trajectory, Talkpool’s German operations recorded an over 60% growth in 2022, with the management team anticipating sustained robust growth in the years ahead.

In a bid to escalate the speed of its fiber rollout, the telecommunications operator plans to establish an additional 2.5 to 3 million connections in 2023. As of 2022’s close, the telecommunications operator tallied roughly 5.2 million connections, a figure projected to exceed 10 million by 2024. Moreover, by 2030, another 8 million households in rural areas—defined as communities with fewer than 20k inhabitants—are expected to be equipped with optical fiber.
