Suzuki and Tata Elxsi forge ahead with offshore center to drive future-ready mobility solutions

Suzuki Motor Corporation and Tata Elxsi have unveiled a landmark collaboration with the launch of the SUZUKI-TATA ELXSI Offshore Development Center in Pune, India. Announced on November 18, 2024, this dedicated facility is set to spearhead advancements in green mobility and next-generation automotive technologies, aligning with evolving global demands for sustainable and innovative solutions.

This strategic partnership aims to address pressing industry trends, including Connected, Autonomous, Shared, and Electric (CASE) technologies. By leveraging Tata Elxsi’s extensive expertise in advanced computing, simulation, and digital design, Suzuki intends to accelerate the development of cutting-edge solutions in lightweight engineering, eco-friendly materials, and efficient powertrains. These efforts are expected to cater to the rising need for electric, hybrid, and alternative fuel vehicles.

Speaking at the inauguration, Suzuki’s Chief Technology Officer Katsuhiro Kato highlighted the transformative potential of the center. He emphasised that the partnership represents a pivotal step in Suzuki’s global innovation strategy, particularly as the company seeks to minimise energy use while fostering collaboration with India’s robust talent pool. He noted that aligning with Tata Elxsi, known for its domain expertise in software-defined vehicles and automotive R&D, positions Suzuki to meet future challenges head-on.

Manoj Raghavan, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Elxsi, shared that this initiative underscores a shared vision for advancing sustainable automotive engineering. He pointed to Tata Elxsi’s design-led and digital-first capabilities as instrumental in driving transformative engineering with precision and responsibility.
