Eicher launches EVFirst Eicher Truck range at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024

Eicher Trucks and Buses, a key division of VE Commercial Vehicles Limited, has officially announced its entry into the Small Commercial Vehicle (SCV) segment. This announcement was made at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, where the company showcased the Global Unveil of its EVFirst Eicher Truck. The new range, embodying Eicher’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and economic viability, covers Gross Vehicle Weights (GVW) from 2 to 3.5 tonnes. Designed to revolutionize city and near-city distribution, this range is poised to transform last-mile logistics, marking a significant milestone in the industry.

Vinod Aggarwal, Managing Director & CEO of VE Commercial Vehicles, highlighted the launch as a pivotal moment aligned with India’s urbanization and e-commerce boom. “As India grows in the Amrit Kaal, the SCV segment will be driven by rapid urbanization, booming e-commerce, increased personal consumption, and the rise of the hub-and-spoke distribution,” Aggarwal stated. He emphasized the “Pro Business, Pro Planet” approach of the upcoming range, reinforcing Eicher’s history of producing energy-efficient trucks and its dedication to India’s sustainable growth.

Scheduled for customer trials in April 2024, with a commercial rollout expected in the first quarter of 2025, Eicher’s SCV vehicle introduces an electric variant as its first offering. This move highlights the company’s focus on sustainability and clean mobility solutions, with plans to expand into clean diesel and CNG variants. Developed and manufactured in India, particularly in Bhopal’s state-of-the-art facility, the product stands as a testament to the government’s Make in India initiative.

Eicher’s commitment extends beyond product innovation to include best-in-class aftermarket experience. The vehicles feature 100% connectivity through the Uptime Centre, utilizing AI for remote diagnostics to minimize downtime. Integrated with ‘My Eicher’ fleet management, the trucks offer valuable performance insights. Eicher’s network boasts over 850 touchpoints, including more than 425 authorized service centers and over 8000 retail centers, ensuring comprehensive support. With ‘Eicher Site Support’ available at more than 240 locations, the company ensures seamless assistance, including training, prompt parts delivery, and convenient annual maintenance contracts.
