SRF Limited to invest Rs 550cr to expand Dahej chemical complex

SRF Limited said that its board of directors has sanctioned a project for expanding its capacity for fluorocarbon refrigerant gas at its chemical complex in Dahej, Gujarat.

The estimated cost of the expansion project is INR 550 crores and is being taken up to cater to the expected demand from the domestic as well as export markets.

According to SRF Limited, its existing capacity of fluorocarbon refrigerant gas at the Dahej chemical complex is around 50,000 MTPA. The company is said to be using more than 80% of that capacity.

SRF Limited said that the proposed capacity addition will be 15,000 MTPA of fluorocarbon refrigerants and some key raw materials. The expansion is expected to be completed within 24 months, that is by July 2023, said the Indian chemicals company based in Gurugram.

The company plans to fund the expansion project via a combination of debt and internal accruals.
