Seaside LNG achieves milestone with first LNG delivery to Carnival Jubilee in Galveston

Seaside LNG has announced a significant achievement with its first delivery of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the Carnival Jubilee, a cruise ship propelled by LNG and stationed in Galveston, Texas. This delivery, conducted on December 30, 2023, represents a monumental moment in the U.S. maritime industry, marking the first in-port ship-to-ship LNG bunkering delivery not only in Galveston but also across the entire U.S. Gulf Coast.

Strategic Expansion of Seaside LNG Operations

The operation was executed following months of meticulous planning involving multiple stakeholders, including the Port of Galveston. Seaside’s barge, the Clean Jacksonville, previously stationed in Jacksonville, Florida, has been relocated to operate out of Galveston, serving the Texas Gulf Coast. To date, the Clean Jacksonville has successfully completed over 350 bunkering operations.

New Fleet Additions and Collaborative Efforts

In related developments, the Clean Everglades, the latest addition to the Seaside LNG fleet, made its inaugural delivery last week to Isla Bella at TOTE Maritime’s terminal near Jacksonville, Florida. This operation, a regular part of TOTE’s long-term service contract with Seaside’s maritime transportation company Polaris New Energy (PNE), underscores Seaside’s expanding operational capabilities. The Clean Everglades, an articulated tug barge with a capacity of 5,500 cubic meters of LNG, joined the fleet in October 2023. TOTE Services plays a vital role as Seaside’s operating partner for both the Clean Jacksonville and Clean Everglades.
