Ras Al Khaimah inaugurates Motherson’s new wiring harness facility
Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, formally inaugurated Motherson’s new wiring harness manufacturing facility in Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ). The inauguration also welcomed Vivek Chaand Sehgal, Chairman of Motherson, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Managing Director of RAKEZ, among other government officials. The facility is a significant addition to RAKEZ’s Al Hamra Industrial Zone, specializing in wiring harnesses for commercial and special-purpose vehicles.
Investment and Economic Impact
The facility, with an initial investment of about Euro 10 million, spans over 11,000 m2 and employs approximately 500 people. Motherson, a global leader in providing wiring harnesses and electrical distribution systems, aims to serve its European customers from this strategic location in Ras Al Khaimah. Sheikh Saud emphasized that the opening of this facility aligns well with the Emirate’s economic diversification strategy, aiming to be a top business destination regionally and globally.
