Ramco Cements commissions waste heat recovery system at Jayanthipuram plant

Ramco Cements said that it has commissioned a waste heat recovery system at its newly operating third production line at its Jayanthipuram cement plant located near Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh.

The Indian cement manufacturer revealed that out of the two boilers in the said waste heat recovery system, the boiler at the cooler called air quenched boiler has been commissioned. Ramco Cements said that it is capable of producing 5MW Of additional power from waste heat. This will increase the company’s total power drawn from waste heat to 21MW, out of a total potential generation of 24MW.

According to Ramco Cements, the other boiler, which is the preheater boiler of the third line is slated to be commissioned in June 2022.

The third production line at the Jayanthipuram cement plant was commissioned in late June 2021. Costing INR 740 crores, the third line has a clinker manufacturing capacity of 1.50 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).
