PM Narendra Modi inaugurates Ramco Cements’ Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal
In a landmark event that underscores the Indian government’s commitment to sustainable development and innovation in the cement industry, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has virtually inaugurated the Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal project of Ramco Cements at Jayanthipuram village, Jaggaiahpet Mandal, NTR District, Andhra Pradesh. This significant development marks a pivotal moment for the logistics and transportation sectors in India, particularly in the realm of eco-friendly materials transport.
The Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal, spearheaded by Ramco Cements, represents a pioneering step towards the eco-conscious transport of raw materials. By utilizing railway wagons with electric locomotives, Ramco Cements will be transporting crushed limestone from its Budawada mines directly to the integrated cement plant in Jayanthipuram.

The transportation route for the crushed limestone spans a total of 8.3 kilometers, with 4.9 kilometers running along the South Central Main Railway Line that connects Mellacheruvu to Jaggaiahpet stations. An additional 3.4 kilometers will be covered on dedicated sidings owned by Ramco Cements, ensuring a seamless and efficient delivery process to the plant’s wagon unloading area.
By integrating with the Dedicated Freight Corridor under the Gati Shakti Mission, Ramco Cements is at the forefront of transforming logistics in the cement industry.
