Petrobras has discovered the presence of hydrocarbons in the CM-411 block in the Campos Basin pre-salt, offshore Brazil, through the drilling of the Urissanê well (1-BRSA-1377-RJS well).
The Urissanê well, which is contained in a water depth of 2,950 meters, found oil in reservoirs in the pre-salt section.
Petrobras said that it will analyze the well data to better target exploratory activities in the area and evaluate the potential of the oil discovery in the CM-411 block, located nearly 200km from the coast of Rio de Janeiro state.
The Brazilian national oil company acquired the CM-411 block in September 2017 during the 14th Bidding Round of the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), under a concession regime, along with the CM-210, CM-277, CM -344, CM-346, and CM-413 blocks.
Petrobras is the operator of the CM-411 block with a 50% stake. It is partnered by ExxonMobil Exploração Brasil, which holds the remaining stake of 50%.
