PBS secures contract extension from TotalEnergies for North Sea operations
PBS, an Aberdeen-based consortium consisting of Ponticelli UK, Brand Energy & Infrastructure Services, and Semco Maritime, has successfully secured an extension to its General Maintenance and Operations Contract (GMOC) with TotalEnergies. Originally awarded in 2020, this extension reaffirms TotalEnergies’ confidence in PBS‘s ability to manage its North Sea assets effectively. With more than a year remaining on the initial five-year contract, this extension will now continue the partnership through to May 2026.
Following a year marked by strong performance outcomes in 2023, PBS has demonstrated its commitment to delivering high-quality services across TotalEnergies’ range of operations. Adam Mason, GMOC Director at PBS, expressed his satisfaction with the extension, noting the significant improvements in several critical workstreams such as the reduction of SECE backlog and the successful and safe execution of shutdowns. Mason highlighted, “This milestone announcement is meaningful for PBS and allows us to press ahead with our five-year strategic plan across TotalEnergies’ seven sites.”
Nicolas Payer, Managing Director of TotalEnergies E&P UK, emphasized the ongoing focus on safe and efficient operations, which are central to the GMOC partnership’s success. Payer’s remarks underscore the progress made in these areas and the intention to maintain these positive trends over the upcoming extension period.
The GMOC, the largest of its kind in the UK, enables PBS to provide integrated operations, maintenance, engineering, construction, facilities management, and access solutions. This is executed by a team of 1100 highly skilled professionals across TotalEnergies’ offshore sites and onshore facilities, including the Shetland Gas plant and the PBS headquarters in Westhill. This extension not only secures jobs but also provides a stable platform for future growth and development within the company.
As PBS continues its collaboration with TotalEnergies, it is set to embark on new projects aimed at optimizing maintenance management systems and enhancing overall project delivery. With a focus on safety, efficiency, and cost optimization, PBS is well-positioned to support TotalEnergies in achieving its operational goals in the challenging North Sea environment.
