Paradeep Phosphates gets CCI nod for acquisition of Zuari Agro’s plant in Goa

Paradeep Phosphates Limited has secured approval from the Competition Commission of India (CCI) for its previously announced acquisition of the Zuarinagar plant in Goa from Zuari Agro Chemicals.

As a result of the transaction, Paradeep Phosphates Limited will acquire the business of developing and manufacturing urea and non-urea fertilizer products, that are currently being undertaken by Zuari Agro Chemicals at the Zuarinagar plant.

Paradeep Phosphates Limited, which is part of the Adventz Group, is mainly focused on manufacturing and sale of non-urea fertilizers such as di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) and NPK fertilizers. The company is also into importing and selling muriate of potash (MoP).

Zuari Agro Chemicals, which is a public listed company, is also a part of the Adventz Group. It is engaged mainly in developing and manufacturing fertilizers in India. It has manufacturing plants in Zuarinagar, where it manufactures urea and non-urea fertilizers.
