Arcticgas, a joint venture formed by Novatek and Gazprom Neft, has started commercial production at the East-Urengoyskoye+North-Esetinskoye field in Russia’s Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Region.
Located within the Samburgskiy license area, in the Purovsky district, the East-Urengoyskoye+North-Esetinskoye field is estimated to produce more than a billion cubic meters of natural gas and also 0.2 million tons of gas condensate per year.
The onshore Russian Arctic gas field is located near Novatek’s existing infrastructure, which enabled the company to quickly start initial production and streamline capital costs.
The East-Urengoyskoye+North-Esetinskoye field is expected to help in the incremental growth in the domestic natural gas production of Novatek in the area of the United Gas Supply System.
As of 31 December 2018, the reserves of the East-Urengoyskoye+North-Esetinskoye field under the Russian reserves classification were around 94 billion cubic meters of natural gas to go along with 27 million tons of liquids.
In July 2019, Novatek said that its fully-owned subsidiary Novatek-Tarkosaleneftegas started commercial production at the South-Khadyryakhinskoye gas field, which is also located in the Purovsky district. The South-Khadyryakhinskoye gas field has an estimated gas capacity at nearly a billion cubic meters per annum.
