Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) has clinched a monumental contract worth Rs 5,400 crore in , signaling its prowess in the global hydrocarbon sector. The significant order, awarded by , entails the construction of Mongolia’s inaugural greenfield , with a valuation of $648 million.

Hydrocarbons President, P Rajesh Reddy, and Altantsetseg Dashdavaa, Executive Director representing the Mongol Refinery State Owned LLC, formalized the project contract during a momentous signing ceremony held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. This groundbreaking initiative, backed by a government-to-government (G2G) collaboration, is MEIL’s third venture in the region, reinforcing its robust presence across the hydrocarbon spectrum.

The Mongol Refinery Project heralds the establishment of Mongolia’s maiden crude oil refinery, poised to produce a staggering 1.5 million tonnes of crude oil annually. This ambitious undertaking aims to cater to Mongolia’s burgeoning domestic demand for essential petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel, and LPG.

Despite facing extreme climatic challenges, with temperatures fluctuating from a bone-chilling (-) 35 degrees Celsius to a scorching (+) 40 degrees Celsius, MEIL remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering this critical infrastructure project.
