Factor, an American ready-to-eat meal delivery service, has opened a new fulfillment and distribution center in Lake Zurich, Illinois.
The facility, which spans around 100,000sft, is expected to support the future growth plans of Factor, while opening up 700 new jobs.
Factor, which was founded in 2013, was acquired by HelloFresh a couple of years ago. Customers can select from its weekly rotating menu of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options with each meal chef-designed, approved by dietitians, and delivered fresh at customers’ doorsteps and not in a frozen state.
Lake Zurich Mayor Tom Poynton said: “On behalf of myself and the Board of Trustees, I am pleased to welcome Factor to the family of companies choosing to set up shop in Lake Zurich.
“Factor will fill a significant void in our industrial park, provide a large number of employment opportunities and based on their past track record, they will become a significant and welcome supporter of the community in general.”
The new meal delivery distribution center will strengthen Factor’s operational footprint in Chicago, which includes production facilities located in Aurora and Burr Ridge, a distribution center in Lyons, and corporate offices across Batavia.
The new Lake Zurich distribution center of Factor after becoming fully operational, will boost its overall meal delivery production and distribution capacity by three times.
Mike Apostal — CEO of Factor said: “As a company born in Chicago, we are thrilled to be expanding our operations in the region, which will support Factor’s growth plans to serve an increasing number of customers with delicious, ready-to-eat meals that fuel their active lifestyles.
“We are thankful for our partnership with the Village of Lake Zurich and Mayor Poynton and look forward to continuing to support the local community and creating new job opportunities.”
