L&T Energy-Power bags EPC order for West Bengal Thermal Power Plant FGD Systems

Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) Power business arm, L&T Energy-Power, has secured a significant Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) order from West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited. The project entails the installation of wet Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) systems for the Thermal Power Plant located at Sagardighi in West Bengal.

This project stands out with its unique features, including the deployment of three FGD absorbers that will serve four thermal power units (2×300 MW, 2×500 MW). Additionally, the balance of plant systems will be installed to cater to five units within the plant. Notably, this marks L&T’s inaugural FGD project in collaboration with a state-owned power utility.
