Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said that L&T Energy Hydrocarbon has been awarded a contract by the Saipem and Clough JV (SCJV) in Australia for the fabrication and supply of process and piperack modules. These are intended for a colossal 2.3 MMTPA urea plant owned by Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers Pty Ltd. Strategically positioned on the Burrup Peninsula, about 20 km north of Karratha in Western Australia, upon completion, this facility will proudly stand as Australia’s largest and one of the world’s top-tier urea plants.

L&T’s Kattupalli Modular Fabrication Facility has been designated for the fabrication of approximately 50,000 MT of modules, with a delivery timeline set for 32 months. To enhance efficiency and minimize onsite hassles, these modules will be shipped in a fully-tested, pre-commissioned state, primed for immediate installation at the Australian project site. Adding to L&T’s laurels, their Heavy Engineering division has also secured a multitude of orders for the urea equipment package for this ambitious project. This comprehensive equipment suite includes Urea Reactors, Carbamate Separators, Carbamate Condensers, and Urea Strippers. L&T’s mastery in the manufacturing and supply of urea equipment, especially with the lauded Snamprogetti (TM) Technology, is emphasized further with this order.
