Larsen & Toubro wins significant T&D contracts in India and Middle East

Larsen & Toubro’s Power Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Business has announced its latest triumph – securing new orders valued between INR 1,000 and 2,500 crores, from both Indian and international markets.

In the Middle East, the business bagged two significant orders for upgrading Electrical Networks in large industrial facilities. The orders primarily involve the establishment of Gas Insulated Substations along with associated High Voltage Cable Systems. The contracts will also entail the installation of Power Transformers and Control & Protection systems, key components for these projects.

“These orders reflect the customer trust in Larsen & Toubro,” the company said, crediting its proven engineering and project management capabilities. The stringent safety, quality, and schedule requirements of such complex projects pose challenges, but Larsen & Toubro has consistently demonstrated the ability to manage these demands effectively.

Back in India, the company has won a contract for constructing a 765kV Transmission Line. This line is set to bolster the evacuation of Renewable Energy from the wind and solar energy hub being developed in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. This domestic order showcases the company’s commitment to enhancing the country’s renewable energy infrastructure, further strengthening its position as a leading force in India’s power transmission and distribution sector.
