Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said that L&T Construction, its construction division, has bagged orders worth INR 1,000-2,500 crores for its various businesses.
Its water and effluent treatment business, L&T Construction secured a contract from the Bangalore Water Supply & Sewerage Board (BWSSB) for designing, constructing, and operating sewage treatment plants and intermediate sewage pumping stations. L&T Construction will also be responsible for the construction of main sewers for 110 villages across the Mahadevpura and Bommanahalli region (K&C Valley Catchment) of Bengaluru city.
Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is funding the project.
The scope of the project includes survey, investigation, design, and construction of a couple of pumping stations, three fully automated sewage treatment plants of 34MLD total capacity, and main sewer lines of 132km length with DWC, DI, and RCC pipes.
The project is expected to benefit 18.04 lakh people in Bengaluru.
L&T Construction’s heavy civil infrastructure business has won a contract to build various facilities within 42 months for the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) at Tarapur in Maharashtra.
The buildings and factories business of L&T Construction has won an order from a major client for constructing sports infrastructure facilities in the Kalinga Stadium at Bhubaneswar in Odisha and a new international hockey stadium with a seating capacity of 20,000 at Rourkela in Odisha ahead of the Hockey World Cup 2023 with a total built-up area of 8.45 lakhs sft.
The project includes buildings like athletic high-performance centre, aquatic complex, tennis centre, accommodation building for hockey HPC and other staff and staff Hostel at the Kalinga Sports Complex and the hockey stadium with ancillary buildings and external development at Rourkela. The scope of work includes civil, structural, MEP and Field of Play (FOP), said Larsen & Toubro.
The company said that the fast-track projects are slated to be completed in 15 months at Kalinga Sports Complex and 12 months at Rourkela, respectively.
