KIMS Hospitals expands in Vizag with acquisition of Queen’s NRI Hospital
KIMS Hospitals has announced a significant expansion in Vishakapatnam by acquiring a 100% stake in M/s. Chalasani Hospitals Private Limited, which owns Queen’s NRI Hospital, a prominent multi-specialty healthcare facility in the city. This acquisition marks a strategic enhancement of KIMS Hospitals‘ presence in the region, adding to their existing healthcare offerings.
Queen’s NRI Hospital, established in 1995, is situated in a prime location within Vizag, surrounded by a densely populated locality and boasting a substantial built-up area of around 150,000 square feet. The hospital is strategically located approximately five and a half kilometers from the nearest competing hospital and 17 kilometers from the health city known as New Vizag, positioning it as a key healthcare provider in the area.
This acquisition complements KIMS Hospitals’ existing facilities in Vizag, which include a multi-specialty hospital and gastro unit. Dr. B. Bhaskara Rao, CMD of KIMS Hospitals, highlighted the significance of this expansion: “This is our 2nd Hospital in Vishakapatnam, following the acquisition of KIMS-ICON Hospitals in 2018. It underscores the tremendous opportunity we see in this city and we’ll continue to look for inorganic opportunities to build on our dominant position in Andhra Pradesh. With the addition of Queen’s NRI Hospital, we now have over 630 beds in Vishakapatnam to provide world-class healthcare facilities.”
The Share Purchase Agreement with the erstwhile promoters and shareholders of Chalasani Hospitals Private Limited is a testament to KIMS Hospitals’ commitment to enhancing healthcare services and facilities in the region. This strategic move is expected to strengthen KIMS Hospitals’ market share and further solidify its position as a leading healthcare provider in Andhra Pradesh.
The acquisition of Queen’s NRI Hospital by KIMS Hospitals represents a well-calculated strategic move to consolidate and expand their healthcare services in Andhra Pradesh. This acquisition not only increases their capacity but also enhances their ability to serve a larger demographic in a region with growing healthcare demands.
