Karur Vysya Bank makes Rs 3.1cr donation to PM CARES FUND

Karur Vysya Bank, an Indian commercial banking company, has made a donation of INR 3.14 crores to the PM Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES FUND) from its CSR funds.

The bank’s MD and CEO B Ramesh Babu handed over a demand draft to Indian Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi.

Karur Vysya Bank said that it has already donated more than INR 3 crores from its CSR funds to the government’s efforts in containing Covid-19.

Some of the notable donations by Karur Vysya Bank include INR 1 crore to the Tamil Nadu State Disaster Management Authority and INR 1.6 crores towards the donation of oxygen generators to various government hospitals.

Karur Vysya Bank has also donated INR 25 lakhs to set up temporary Covid care centres at Coimbatore and Hyderabad and INR 10 lakhs towards the Tamil Nadu government’s vaccination drive through private hospitals.
