The Telugu version of Kalki 2898 AD amassed Rs 11.2 crore on Tuesday, while the Tamil version earned Rs 1.2 crore. The Hindi version contributed Rs 14 crore, and the Malayalam version added Rs 1.2 crore. The film’s global business is equally impressive, indicating a phenomenal reception worldwide.
As the weekend approaches, Kalki 2898 AD is expected to see significant growth. With no competition in the Telugu industry and only facing Karan Johar-Guneet Monga’s Kill in Hindi, the film is poised to attract large audiences, continuing its box office domination.
Kalki 2898 AD made history with a massive Rs 191 crore global collection on its opening day, making it the third biggest opener in Indian cinema. This achievement surpasses the global opening records of KGF 2 (Rs 159 crore), Salaar (Rs 158 crore), Leo (Rs 142.75 crore), Sahoo (Rs 130 crore), and Jawan (Rs 129 crore). Set in a dystopian future, Kalki 2898 AD draws heavily from Mahabharat. The plot revolves around four characters: Sumathi (Deepika Padukone), a pregnant woman carrying the 10th avatar of Vishnu; Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan), tasked with protecting the unborn child; Supreme Yaskin (Kamal Haasan), a villain intent on killing the child; and Bhairava (Prabhas), a bounty hunter driven by greed.
