K1 Speed expands Northeast presence with new acquisition in Mount Kisco, New York

K1 Speed, the world’s largest indoor go-kart racing operator, has announced its latest expansion in the Northeast with the acquisition of Grand Prix New York’s karting center in Mount Kisco. This marks the eighth location for K1 Speed in the region and is part of a strategic expansion that includes plans for four new centers in the area this year.

Strategic Acquisition and Expansion

The newly acquired 100,000 square-foot center, now renamed K1 Speed Mount Kisco, is the first of several planned expansions in the Northeast. K1 Speed’s growth strategy in this region reflects the company’s commitment to making high-adrenaline go-kart racing more accessible. The center features a multi-level indoor karting track, Junior and Adult Karts, a vast arcade area, and multiple bowling lanes, offering a comprehensive entertainment experience.

Facility Features and Offerings

K1 Speed Mount Kisco is set to become a premier destination for both casual visitors and go-kart enthusiasts. The center includes a 6,000 square-foot arcade, 12 public bowling lanes, seven private lanes for group events, and a restaurant with a full bar. The facility also boasts private event rooms for parties and corporate events, enhancing its appeal as a venue for social gatherings and professional engagements.

Company Growth and Market Impact

Susan Danglard, Co-Founder and Director of Marketing at K1 Speed, emphasized the importance of the expansion: “When we started this company over 20 years ago, our goal was to make an exclusive sport more accessible and affordable for the masses. Our expansion in the Northeast is a commitment to the company’s mission statement.”

Future Plans and Developments

In addition to the new Mount Kisco location, K1 Speed has already secured a lease for a second site in New Jersey and is in the planning stages for two more centers in the region. These developments are expected to significantly increase K1 Speed’s footprint and accessibility, providing more communities with the opportunity to experience the thrill of indoor kart racing.

The acquisition of Grand Prix New York by K1 Speed is a significant step in the company’s expansion strategy, enhancing its presence in the competitive entertainment and leisure industry. The focus on comprehensive entertainment offerings within each location positions K1 Speed as a leader in family and community-focused recreation.
