Infosys partners with Spirit AeroSystems for aerostructure co-innovations

Indian IT major Infosys has signed a new five-year agreement with its long-time partner Spirit AeroSystems to offer innovative aerostructure and systems engineering services.

The collaborative offerings will be provided for product development of commercial, business jet and emerging aircraft programs, and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services.

Infosys has already been working with Spirit AeroSystems over the past 16 years, delivering advanced design solutions for some of its aerostructure programs.

Based in the US, Spirit AeroSystems specializes in making aerostructures for commercial airplanes, defense platforms, and business/regional jets.

Under the new arrangement, the Bangalore-based software giant will provide end-to-end product development services, including design engineering, sustaining engineering, systems engineering, stress engineering, manufacturing engineering, and repair and maintenance.

Infosys will also help Spirit AeroSystems in gaining highly efficient structural designs for the manufacture of innovative, lightweight, and more sustainable aircraft structures and components.

Last year, Infosys was roped in by Spirit AeroSystems for helping the American aero structures manufacturer for integrating the IT infrastructure of the former Bombardier assets it had acquired.
