Infosys said that its CSR arm — Infosys Foundation has inaugurated the Infosys Foundation Sports Park in Bengaluru in the presence of Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra Kumar.
Located in Adugodi, the Infosys Foundation Sports Park includes a volleyball and basketball court, each having a size of 5,928sft, a football and a badminton court, each having a size of 4,000sft, a 1,500sft children’s play area, and a 1,547sft skating rink.
Sunil Kumar Dhareshwar — Infosys Foundation Trustee said: “Amid shrinking common spaces and a sedentary lifestyle, this initiative is about encouraging citizens to incorporate sports into their daily life, providing opportunities for holistic health, and creating quality avenues for them to achieve this.
“With support from the Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru, we are happy to improve the city’s public infrastructure and contribute to the cause of sports and citizens’ health.”
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by Infosys Foundation earlier with the Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru City for expanding the sports infrastructure in Bengaluru for the Public. Following this, the Infosys Foundation has supported the construction of the sports park in Adugodi.
Pratap Reddy — Bengaluru City Commissioner of Police said: “We appreciate Infosys Foundation for lending their support in the commencement of this project. Going forward, such initiatives will greatly contribute to the infrastructural development of Bengaluru City Police.”
