Infosys BPM launches new facility in Puerto Rico, bolstering local economy and job growth

Infosys BPM, the business process management subsidiary of Infosys (NSE, BSE, NYSE: INFY), proudly announced the inauguration of its second facility at the Montana Industrial Park in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Supported by a US$200,000 investment and contributions from the Puerto Rico Economic Incentive Fund provided by the Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC), this expansion is set to create 325 new jobs, adding to its existing local workforce of 300 employees.

The new facility is a strategic move by Infosys BPM to increase its operational capacity and enhance service delivery across key sectors such as aerospace, healthcare, insurance, financial services, and telecommunications. This expansion not only aims to serve more clients globally but also to tap into the local talent pool, offering numerous high-skilled job opportunities in knowledge-based data processing and customer service.

The expansion has been met with enthusiasm from local officials. The Honorable Secretary of the DDEC, Manuel Cidre, commented on the growth potential, stating, “This second Infosys center will continue to provide services to local and global clients in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, with highly qualified professionals who work at the forefront of innovation and technology. It is another step forward towards accelerating growth across industries in Puerto Rico, which will strengthen its position in the global market.”

Additionally, Aguadilla’s Mayor, Hon. Julio Roldan Concepcion, expressed his support: “We are delighted to continue to host Infosys BPM and are confident that this new facility will contribute significantly to the local economy. Infosys BPM has always added value to Aguadilla’s economic landscape.”
