Aero Vodochody Aerospace, the Czech Republic’s largest and one of the world’s oldest aircraft manufacturers, has made a significant move toward digital transformation by selecting IFS Cloud as its enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. This ambitious project is designed to modernize Aero’s production processes, enhance operational efficiency, and position the company as a leader in the competitive aerospace industry.

Transforming aerospace manufacturing with cutting-edge digital solutions

Aero Vodochody Aerospace is integrating IFS Cloud with Siemens Teamcenter, a product lifecycle management (PLM) platform, to create a seamless digital ecosystem. This transformation focuses on transitioning to paperless production by implementing digital twin technology and advanced visualization tools on the shop floor. These innovations will deliver real-time digital work instructions and streamline approvals, significantly boosting productivity and reducing errors.

Viktor Sotona, Chairman and President of Aero, explained that the initiative represents one of the company’s largest IT investments to date. He emphasized that these systems will optimize every stage of operations—from product development to supply chain management—enhancing Aero’s capacity to meet increasing global demand. Sotona highlighted how this leap aligns with Industry 4.0 standards, solidifying Aero’s future in the aerospace market.

Building a robust digital foundation

The deployment of IFS Cloud and Siemens Teamcenter will provide Aero Vodochody Aerospace with a comprehensive digital backbone that supports the design, development, and manufacture of its own aircraft. Additionally, it will streamline the production of components for other manufacturers and improve maintenance, repair, and overhaul services. By standardizing processes across operations, Aero aims to achieve greater consistency, reduced downtime, and a higher degree of product innovation.

According to Marek Głazowski, Managing Director at IFS, the integration reflects Aero’s forward-thinking strategy in adopting solutions tailored to complex industries. He expressed excitement about helping Aero modernize its systems and drive measurable results through state-of-the-art digital tools.

Siemens’ representative, Pavel Rozsypal, emphasized the transformative potential of the partnership, noting that the collaboration would accelerate Aero’s innovation cycles and solidify its position as a global aerospace leader.

Comprehensive implementation across operations

InfoConsulting, an IFS platinum partner, is managing the rollout of these integrated systems across Aero Vodochody Aerospace’s Czech operations. The project will involve nearly 900 users of IFS Cloud and more than 700 Siemens Teamcenter users across research, development, manufacturing, and production teams. This comprehensive deployment aims to optimize workflows, ensure quality, and enhance collaboration throughout the product lifecycle.
