Hero MotoCorp sells over 4.5 lakh bikes and scooters in July 2021
Indian motorcycles and scooters manufacturer Hero MotoCorp said that it has sold a total of 454,398 units of two-wheelers for the month of July 2021, compared to 5,20,104 units in July 2020.
According to Hero MotoCorp, the sales included 4,24,126 motorcycles and 30,272 scooters. Among these 4,29,208 units were sold in the domestic market, while 25,190 units were sold outside India.
The automobile company had increased the ex-showroom prices of its bikes and scooters last month.
Hero MotoCorp said that most of its retail touch-points in India are operational but localized lockdowns in some states due to the sporadic Covid-19 cases continue to curb the customer movement.
The Indian motorcycles and scooters manufacturer stated: “India’s rural economy and semi-urban market is expected to bounce back on the hopes of good monsoon and customers’ preference for personal mobility.
“Hero MotoCorp continues to monitor the on-ground situation and remains optimistic about continuously improving consumer sentiment in the coming months with the onset of the festive season.”
During the second quarter, the company launched the 125CC Glamour Xtec motorcycle and the new Maestro Edge 125 scooter.
Hero MotoCorp also started retail sales in Mexico as part of its global expansion plans.
