Hero MotoCorp achieves record sales in 2023, leads motorcycle and scooter market
Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, has capped off the calendar year 2023 on a high note, achieving significant sales milestones. From January to December 2023, the company sold over 54.99 lakh units of motorcycles and scooters, marking a 5% increase compared to the previous year when it sold 52.47 lakh units.
December 2023: A Month of Milestones:
In December 2023 alone, Hero MotoCorp dispatched 393,952 units, showcasing the company’s robust market presence and consumer demand. This achievement underscores Hero MotoCorp’s continued market leadership in the two-wheeler sector.
Expectations for Positive Momentum:
With the backdrop of increased government spending, improved liquidity, and the upcoming marriage season, Hero MotoCorp anticipates a further upsurge in sales from the fourth quarter onwards. These factors are expected to catalyze the company’s growth and market expansion.

Strengthening the Leadership Team:
In December 2023, Hero MotoCorp announced key appointments to its leadership team. Vivek Anand joined as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and Rachna Kumar took the role of Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), both reporting to Niranjan Gupta, CEO of Hero MotoCorp. These strategic appointments are aimed at bolstering the company’s management framework and driving future growth.
Collaboration with Ather Energy:
In a significant move, Hero MotoCorp announced its partnership with Ather Energy to develop an interoperable fast-charging network across India. This collaboration will enable users of both VIDA and Ather grids to access over 1900 fast-charging points in 100 cities, reflecting Hero MotoCorp’s commitment to electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure development.
Hero MotoSports Team Rally at Dakar 2024:
Highlighting its presence in the sports segment, Hero MotoSports Team Rally unveiled its squad for the Dakar Rally 2024. The team, consisting of four Rally GP class pilots, is set to represent India at this prestigious event, showcasing Hero MotoCorp’s dedication to sports and adventure.
